What is phishing?

Phishing is a technique which scammers use to fraudulently manipulate information out of innocent people. This is commonly carried out using emails to scam the reader into thinking that the message is from a company that they recognise or have been dealing with previously. Normally the scammer will choose a well-known company such as in recent times the NHS, and others such as Microsoft and retailers such as eBay and Amazon to convince the reader of their credibility. They will use these emails to acquire personal information from yourself which they will use for malicious activity. How to avoid phishing
