Rishi Verma

Rishi has been a qualified solicitor since 2013 and is a strong, influential character within our Magistrates team. His perseverance and meticulous attention to detail are only a few of his endearing qualities as a solicitor. His clients are always faced with the upmost of client care and Rishi ensures that their needs are met with efficiency and tact.

Rishi briefly worked within the commercial law field before joining ABV in 2008 and has since seen the firm go from strength to strength, whilst also developing his own skill set and thirst for legal expertise.  Rishi studied Law with Hispanic Law at the University College of London (UCL) and graduated in 2008. This allowed Rishi to gain a greater understanding of the broader nature of law, as well as the differences between laws in other countries.

Rishi has a particular interest in extradition law and the treatment of mentally vulnerable clients, which is evident in his most memorable case of 2014 below:

  • Malta v M.A – successfully overturning the decision of Westminster Magistrates Court to extradite an individual with severe mental health issues.

On the Magistrates team, Rishi covers all areas of criminal law from serious violence and sexual offences to fraud, extradition, road traffic offences and gang injunctions. Rishi is an integral part of the Magistrates team and is often found defending his clients in numerous Magistrates courts around the West London and Thames Valley area.

Rishi is a strong advocate of the Legal Aid scheme and is keen to defend those who feel that the criminal justice system is not listening to them. Rishi is particularly proud to work in a team of hungry lawyers, committed to fighting for their clients’ rights and judicial freedom.

Rishi is fluent in Spanish and has an understanding of conversational French.
