Ben joined ABV solicitors in 2007 upon qualification. He has specialised in criminal defence work since 2003, having previously worked within the magistrates’ court service for four years.
Known for being an assured, calm and persuasive manner, Ben’s daily appearances in the magistrates’ and youth courts have gained him a reputation for being a passionate and effective advocate.
With extensive trial experience in the Magistrates court, Ben’s practice has shifted significantly to the Crown Court.
In 2010, Ben became a solicitor advocate after gaining his higher rights qualification.
He now regularly undertakes all aspects of work in the Crown Court, from Plea and Case Management Hearings through to trial and sentencing.
Ben specialises in representing clients charged with a wide range of serious and complex offences including murder, drugs importations and armed robberies.
He has had notable success at the Court of Appeal in having convictions quashed and his meticulous and structured approach to case preparation is indicative of the high level of service which his clients can expect from him.
Ben also undertakes prosecution work on behalf of DBIS and the RSPCA.
Ben is fluent in French.
Away from law, Ben is the father of two young boys who takes up all of his spare time.
