Stephanie joined ABV as a Criminal Defence Solicitor in August 2010. She was called to the Bar in 2006 and cross- qualified to become a solicitor in 2010. Having undertaken her training at Legal 500 Firms Bindmans LLP and Hickman and Rose Solicitors she has a strong grounding in human rights and civil liberties work such as inquests and actions against the police.

Stephanie’s practice covers all areas of criminal law both in the Crown and Magistrates’ Court from motoring offences to serious offences of violence in the Central Criminal Court. She has worked on a number of high profile cases involving conspiracy to blackmail, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, murder, and fraud/money laundering. She has also defended gang members in relation to allegations of people trafficking, supply of firearms, drugs, and rape. She has worked on a number of political and environmental protest cases which have raised complex legal issues incorporating ECHR arguments into the defence case.

Stephanie undertakes legal aid work and represents clients daily in the Magistrates’ court in addition to running Crown Court cases and Jury trials. Stephanie particularly enjoys working in the Youth Court, her interest in this area stemming from her work as a volunteer with the Youth Offending Team which she undertook alongside her legal studies. Stephanie’s advocacy style is one of a well prepared, calm, assured and reasoned persuasive argument.

Stephanie has an excellent reputation amongst her contemporaries and clients for her dedication to her client’s case. She fights all of her cases with passion, temerity and integrity. She has an innate ability to forensically analyse the evidence and she is quick to consider tactics to achieve the best outcome for the client.

Stephanie has also acted for number of private clients such as journalists, bankers, civil servants and academic professionals who have instructed her to undertake work in relation to intended prosecutions by public bodies or the police. She has also represented interested parties at inquests.

Outside of work Stephanie enjoys water sports, travel and the theatre.
